How to use a dictionary
☆The words in a dictionary are in alphabetical order from A to Z.
☆If two words start with the same letter, we look at the second letter of the word we want to look up. If the first two letters of two words are the same, we look at the third letter, and so on.
Put the following words in alphabetical order, write the numbers 1-8 in the blanks.

Listen
Alice did not know what to do. Then she went back to the table and saw a little bottle on it. A note on the bottle said "DRINK ME".
Alice opened the bottle and drank a little. It tasted sweet. Alice liked it. She drank some morn. Then she felt a little ill. She looked down and saw that her body became smaller and smaller.
Soon Alice was small enough to go through the door, so she decided to enter the garden. When she walked towards the door, she forgot about the key.
Alice had to go back to the table, but she was too small to reach the key. She tried to climb up, but failed. Then she saw a piece of cake under the table. A note on the box said "EAT ME".
Listen again and answer these questions.

Language points
1. Her body became smaller and smaller.
比较级+and+比较级，此结构表示程度的加深，表示“越来越……”
e.g.: Our life is getting better and better.
 我们的生活越来越好。

the+比较级，the+比较级，表示“越…越…”
e.g.: He says, "the busier, the better."
 他说：“越忙越好。”
2. Soon Alice was small enough to go through the door, so she decided to enter the garden.
1）enough修饰名词，enough一般放在名词前
e.g.: enough money enough time
修饰形容词、副词，enough放后面
good enough She sang well enough.
2）decide to do sth. 决定做某事
e.g.: At last he decided to help the poor people with those money.
 最后他决定用这些钱去帮助穷人。
3. She was too small to reach the key.
“too...to”结构中，整个结构的意思是“太……以致不能……”。
基本形式：too+adj./adv.+to do 其中“to do”修饰“too+adj./adv.”作为结果状语或程度状语。“to do”通常包含否定意义。
e.g.:
The problem is too hard for a child to understand.
问题太难了，小孩子不能理解。
It's too good an opportunity to miss.
那是一个不应该错过的极好机会。
4. a little bottle 一个小瓶
 drink a little 喝了一点
 She felt a little ill. 她感到有点不舒服。
a little 表示一点儿，修饰不可数名词
如：a little money （一点钱）
a little 也可以表示小的
如：a little boy （一个小男孩）
a little 也可以修饰形容词
如：a little hungry （有点饿）

A possible version on what will happen to Alice next
Alice read the note and thought carefully, "If the cake makes me smaller, I can creep under the door, and if it makes me larger, I can reach the key."
Alice ate the cake. Then she was quite surprised to find that the cake made her grow taller and taller. When she looked down at her feet, they were so far away.
Alice was very afraid. She sat down and began to cry. After a while the rabbit returning. The white rabbit was so frightened by Alice that he quickly ran away.
Alice had to swim through her own tears and meet a mouse and some other animals. They were all swimming in the tears.
